The Old Wall

The old wall was built using the wrong type of wood panel. When a squash ball hits the wall, it forms a suction cup shape that pulls the wood pieces from the wall.

Removing the old wall

First the sand is removed from behind the wall by drilling holes in the panels and catching it in buckets. See the pile on the bottom left of the photos.
Then damaged wall is removed exposing the courts original plaster wall behind it.

New panels going up

The new panels get installed, leaving a couple of centimetres gap behind it. This gets filled with the sand.

Just one more...

The Bucket Brigade

Once the wall is up, the rest of the sand gets poured back. One bucket at a time...
